    October 24, 2009: “Playing For The Planet — World Music Against Climate Change”

    The first concert, at Cambridge’s First Congregational Church, raised $1500 for 350.org, and featured six separate performers: Beth Bahia Cohen, Ayakano Catherine Read, Warren Senders & The Raga Ensemble, Libana, Aparna Sindhoor & The Navarasa Dance Company, and the Agbekor Drum and Dance Society.

    June 12, 2010 — “Singing For The Planet — Vocal Music Against Climate Change”

    This concert was held at Emmanuel Church in Boston, and raised over $800 for 350.org. It featured Mili Bermejo & Dan Greenspan, Warren Senders & The Raga Ensemble, and Dominique Eade with Will Slater and Will Graefe. And it was great.

    November 6, 2010 — “Drumming For The Planet — World Rhythms Against Climate Change”

    Like its predecessor, this happened at Emmanuel, and raised almost $900 for 350.org. It featured Rakalam Bob Moses, Akshay Navaladi’s tabla solo performance, and the Ghanaian Dance Drumming of the Agbekor Drum and Dance Society. And it was great.

    April 22, 2011 — “Playing For The Planet: World Violins Against Climate Change.”

    This concert showcased three different violinists and their ensembles: Mimi Rabson (jazz-rock quartet), Tara Bangalore (Carnatic classical music) and Beth Bahia Cohen (middle-Eastern and European perspectives). This event happened on Friday, April 22, at Emmanuel Church. We sold out the hall and raised $1170 for 350.org.

    November 11, 2011: “Strings For The Planet,” an incredible concert featuring Turkish classical music from Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Durga Krishnan’s Carnatic Veena, and the brilliant classical guitarists Eliot Fisk and Zaira Meneses.

    May 19, 2012: World Flutes Against Climate Change, featuring Renaissonics, Elizabeth Reian Bennett, and Steve Gorn.

    June 21, 2013: Dancing For The Planet, featuring Zoe Dance Company, Nani Agbeli & the Agbekor Society, and Navarasa Dance Theater.
